Essential Functions:

• Plan and direct all field work operations at the hazardous waste site.
• Coordinate and implement safety and health functions with the Site Safety Manager.
• Oversee and monitor the requirements and program processes issued by the Site Project/Safety Manager.
• Ensure proper implementation of the Health and Safety Plan (HASP).

Planning & Coordination

• Prepare and coordinate the daily site work plans, with a minimum two-week work forecast to aid in the daily planning.
• Assign work to site supervisors and oversee their performance.
• Coordinate emergency response efforts with the Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC).
• Serve as the primary liaison with contractors.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard (29 CFR 1910.120).
• Help Site Safety Manager verify that all personnel have appropriate HAZWOPER training (8-, 24-, or 40-hour).
• Help Site Safety Manager ensure site-specific safety and health plans are developed and implemented.
• Help Site Safety Manager maintain effective safety and health records.

Emergency Preparedness

• Support development and review of the emergency response plan.
• Ensure emergency response rehearsals are conducted.
• Coordinate with client’s response contractor.

Communication & Documentation

• Maintain clear lines of authority and communication among site personnel.
• Ensure all plans and updates are documented and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Report incidents and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.

Experience & Requirements:

• PMP Certification Desired
• 30-hour OSHA Supervisor Certification Desired
• 29CFR1910.120 40 hour HAZWOPER Training
• Qualified respirator user
