Veolia Nuclear Solutions Federal Services is looking for Civil/Structural Engineers.  In this position professionals will develop detailed designs and analysis of civil and structural components for industrial and nuclear applications.  Successful candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individuals who possess the ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment using excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in multidiscipline design teams to develop detailed designs. 
  • Working under the direction of a Principal Engineer:
    • Prepare design drawings, design calculations, fabrication and construction specifications to meet design criteria and objectives
    • Review and evaluate customer provided design criteria, interpret and apply design codes and standards to ensure design products conform to consensus standards.
    • Development and/or review of design documents and drawings that will be issued for construction.

Qualifications

 Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in engineering design
  • Working knowledge of finite element analyses codes (i.e., ANSY, SAP2000, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of national codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC

 Desired Qualifications   

  • Familiarity with MathCAD and AutoCAD/Civil 3 D/Solidworks preferred 
  • PE Licensed
  • Experience with Federal Projects within the Department of Defense, Department of Energy or Hanford Specific Experience

  • Execute technical tasks assigned
  • Interacts with senior engineers and project managers to:
    • Deliver scope on time, on budget and in accordance with expectations, including delivery in a safe and secure manner
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
