Overview

Under direct supervision, performs Project Manager job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities assist and support management in ensuring that all Project Manager duties are conducted in a manner that is safe, cost effective and fully compliant with VNSFS procedures and all contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
• Makes sure all work is planned.
• Work packages are generated and approved with full participation from technical disciplines, trades and equipment operators.
• Internal assessments (self-checks) are implemented and adhered to.
• Work prerequisites are complete.
• Hazard and hazard controls are identified and communicated.
• Equipment, tools and materials necessary to perform the work are available.
• All required inspections, calibrations and testing is complete.
• Adequate staff (trained and qualified) is available.
• All personnel understand their roles, responsibilities and authorities.
• Payment estimates are reviewed and certified.


Accountabilities:
• Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during their “core”
work hours. Overtime may be required as job demands.


Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office
equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

• A college degree from an accredited school in engineering, construction management, geology, chemistry or a related field.


Experience & Requirements:
• A minimum of seven years of project management experience with five years of experience on Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive waste (HTRW) cleanup or decontamination and decommissioning projects, preferably involving radionuclides.
• A minimum of one cost reimbursable contracting project (additional experience is preferable) for a U.S. federal agency.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and guidance as they apply to the State of Ohio.
• Must be able to pass Radiation Worker Training (Radiological Worker 1 or 2) and 40-hour HAZWOPER training and up to date 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher training.
• Pre-Employment Physical (office or field work)
• Drug Screen
• The ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance
• Background Check
• Any site training that is required.


Travel:
Limited/as needed.
