Overview

Responsible for the overall technical support of internal employees for technical issues, questions, or problems regarding software, hardware, installations, and upgrades of computers. Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Present a professional image as a representative of the company.  
  • Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers, and every level of management.  
  • Provide technical support on hardware, software, telephone and printer issues  
  • Resolve trouble tickets for internal staff  
  • Set up new hire desks with computer equipment and phone login
  • Answer technical inquiries  
  • Set up internal presentations that need audio and video assistance  
  • Troubleshoot any reported problems  
  • Phone set up and administration  
  • Continuously learning, primarily through self-instruction and hands on training.  
  • Providing system administration and documentation for all IT equipment, user support, and other technical functions as instructed.
  • Maintains a safe working environment. Demonstrates awareness and implementation of applicable environmental, safety and health (ES&H) requirements while also alerting coworkers of such requirements as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to get along with co-workers, customers and visitors.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Accountabilities

  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during their “core” work hours. Overtime may be required as job demands.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

  • Completion of a degree. from an accredited university with emphasis in computer science AND two years directly applicable experience in areas listed in Essential Duties and Responsibilities OR
  • Minimum of four years equivalent experience in areas listed in Essential Functions

Experience & Requirements:

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating/maintenance instruction and procedure manuals with the ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, and to interpret a variety of instructions, and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to operate office copier, telephone, fax, and computer are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a DOE Q clearance if required.
  • Related industry-recognized certifications including PMP, Security + and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are desired.
  • Knowledge and experience with ITIL.
  • Competencies in AAD, MS365, and CISCO Meraki are preferred.
