  • Overview

    VNS Federal Services has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Coordinator at the 222-S Hanford Laboratory located in the 200-W area of the Hanford site. The individual will collaborate with the analytical department, laboratory management and our laboratory customers to ensure that project reports are completed according to regulatory and customer requirements. The individual will have the capacity to operate as a senior scientist / technical lead and assist in the implementation of method development and analytical operations. 


    1. Develop new and expanded opportunities for analytical and testing services for VNS Federal Services
    2. Identify and manage resources associated with project management team activities, including resolving prioritization of competing projects.
    3. Interface with VNS Federal customers to establish sampling plans and customer objectives.
    4. Collaborate with the analytical laboratory to drive continuous improvement to maintain the highest quality standards.
    5. Assist in the validation of analytical data.
    6. Serve in the capacity of senior scientist and / or technical lead when requested by management.
    7. Author reports for all assigned projects, and review data for completeness prior to issuing final reports to customers.
    8. Prepare informational packages describing analytical work scope and distribute to analytical workgroups.
    9. Manage and coordinate projects to ensure timeliness and quality of final analytical deliverables.
    10. Manage and coordinate the analytical performance of a set of analytical work requests through its entire life cycle.



    • BS degree in related field with a minimum of 8-10 years of related experience in in an accredited laboratory environment.
    • Experience in analytical methods used for both environmental and industrial hygiene accreditations.
    • Experience in reviewing, validating data for final report submittals to clients.
    • Experience with the application of a Quality System including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Validation and Corrective Action Policies
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
    • High level of computer literacy (preferably Microsoft applications, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Ability to assume the role as a senior scientist / technical lead as assigned by the Laboratory Manager
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently as require.


    Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

    • Laboratory management experience.
    • Familiarity with Hanford requirements
    • Experience with laboratory information management systems; specifically OmniLIMS used at WHL.
